Vocational Rehabilitation for Ohio Residents. OOD works with people who have a variety of physical, intellectual, mental health, and sensory disabilities to assist them in gaining, maintaining, preparing for, or returning to work. If you want to work but are having trouble finding or keeping a job because of your disability, you may qualify for OOD vocational rehabilitation services. We work directly with you to determine your eligibility for our services. This work is accomplished through assessments and one-on-one, in-person, or virtual meetings with one of our professional VR counselors.
Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits. Students who believe they may be eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation benefits (Chapter 31/VR&E) should submit an application via their benefits account in order to be scheduled for a meeting with a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor through the VA.
Monthly Payment Plan. Through a third party Franciscan University offers a 10-month payment plan which is broken up into two 5-month plans per Fall or Spring semester. A three-moth plan is available for summer. To get more information or to sign up log into the Port. Students can assign a log in for a parent to manage the payment plan.
Satisfactory Academic Progress. To be eligible for federal aid a student must continue to maintain progress towards a degree. This generally means you must have an overall GPA above 2.0, complete at least 67% of courses attempted each semester and not exceed 150% of the course load to complete your degree. If you do not meet these then your federal aid can be placed on suspension, you do have an opportunity to appeal. See our site for more detailed information.

Withdrawing from Classes vs Dropping Classes. Dropping a class means you dropped the class from your academic schedule before the last day to add/drop which is generally before the first week of the semester ends. This means the class will not appear on your transcript and you did not attempt the class (it never happened). Withdrawing from a class means you are withdrawing from a class after the last day to drop and before the last day to withdraw which these dates are published in the academic calendar for each academic year. This means you did attempt the class, and it will show on your transcript with a grade “W”. If you withdraw from not all your classes, meaning you are still enrolled in at least one class, there is no change to your financial aid or charges. If you completely withdraw from all classes in a semester then we will have to calculate if there is a refund of any charges and if we have to return any financial aid. The Financial Aid office will determine then when we receive your complete withdrawal notice from the Registrar's office.
