How to Apply for Financial Aid
Apply--It all begins with your application to the University. Whether undergraduate or graduate you first need to apply, turn in all information and be admitted.
FAFSA--To apply for financial aid, students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as it becomes available—typically by January 1. You can apply online at studentaid.gov. Franciscan University’s school code: 003036.
Merit scholarships are awarded at the time of admission and do not require the FAFSA. However, to be considered for need-based financial aid administered by the University, students must be accepted for admission and submit a completed FAFSA. Please note that not all students will qualify for need-based aid, as eligibility is determined by your Student Aid Index (SAI) and overall financial need.
You can view your financial aid information by logging into the PORT.
In addition to federal and university aid, students are encouraged to explore other sources of financial assistance, such as state grants, scholarships offered by unions, businesses, foundations, high schools, community organizations, and religious groups.
