Accelerated Programs

In partnership with select graduate programs at Franciscan, online and on-ground undergraduate students may receive early admission to the following Master’s level programs: Catholic Studies, Philosophy, Theology & Christian Ministry, Catechetics & Evangelization, and Education. Junior and senior undergraduate students receiving admission to the accelerated programs listed below are allowed to take up to four graduate level courses (no more than one per semester) for a total of 12 credit hours and to apply these credits both toward completion of their undergraduate degree as well as to a Master’s degree. Unless otherwise indicated by a given undergraduate program, free electives are to be used for early advancement toward the graduate degree. Tuition for these four graduate-level courses is the normal tuition for under-graduate courses. In order to continue in the accelerated program, students must maintain an overall QPA in graduate courses at or higher than what specified by admission requirements for each respective graduate program.

By taking four graduate-level courses under this program, the student is left with the requirement of completing further credits of graduate work, which can be done by taking the normal graduate load for two more semesters, not including in rare occasions additional summer course work.
