Program Overview

Mission Statement

To form effective and virtuous leaders through a rigorous business education grounded in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.

The Franciscan MBA program provides students with deep, real world managerial competencies in areas that contribute to organizational success, including accounting, economics, finance, analytics, marketing, operations management, and strategy. The program is grounded with the time-honored principles of Catholic teaching, which are integrated in all required courses. These courses draw on principles such as human dignity, the common good, subsidiarity and solidarity, and students apply these to real-world situations for optimal decision making. Finally, the program challenges students to step up and embrace leadership as a personal vocation, as the lay faithful “are called by God so that they … might contribute to the sanctification of the world, as from within like leaven, by fulfilling their own particular duties.” —Christifidelis Laici, No. 15

Fully Online in an Asynchronous, Flexible Approach

Students can access materials and complete assignments according to their own schedule and location. There are weekly submission deadlines; however, students can work ahead to accommodate personal and professional commitments. Courses are delivered in eight-week sessions, with two sessions per traditional fall, spring and summer semesters (six sessions per year). While most students complete the program in about two years, it is possible to complete the program in as little as one year.

Franciscan University’s online MBA program is designed for business professionals in all stages of their careers who are looking to advance to the next level and make a difference in their businesses and organizations.
