Admission Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited University or College in any discipline is required for admission to the program. Applicants to the program must submit official transcripts.

No GMAT or GRE is required for admittance. However, to provide a foundation for success, applicants should have completed undergraduate courses with a grade of B- or better or have significant work experience in the following areas:

· Financial and Managerial Accounting

· Business Statistics

Depending on the strength of the overall application, a student with an undergraduate GPA less than 3.0 may be admitted on a probationary basis.


Application for Admission

Applications must be fully complete and submitted at least three weeks before the start of the term for which the student is seeking admission. As an MBA degree candidate, the student must be available for a personal interview and submit the following documents to the Graduate Admissions Office:

  • Completed application form.
  • All official college or university transcripts (sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions by the issuing institution).
  • A résumé and three letters of recommendation from work, education or volunteer organizations.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for all applicants whose first language or country’s official language is not English.

Admission and Enrollment Status

Probationary Admission: 
Probationary status will last a minimum of nine credit hours for required courses. This status will be removed if the student attains a grade average of B (3.00) or better for the required courses taken during the probationary period.

Transfer Credit:
Students who wish to transfer graduate course credit to Franciscan University of Steubenville’s MBA Program may be permitted to do so up to a total of six credits taken within the last seven years. However, these transfer credits will be accepted only after the student has successfully completed a minimum of six credits with at least a B in each required course in the Franciscan MBA program. Following the successful completion of six credit hours of graduate required courses at Franciscan University of Steubenville, the faculty will review the transfer of credits request and will notify the student of a decision.
