Evaluation and Due Process

Graduate students are expected to make consistent progress toward degree completion. Students with a cumulative GPA below 3.0 and/or who are not on track to complete the program within five years may be advised to withdraw from the University. Academic performance and progress are monitored by the Program Director in consultation with the permanent graduate faculty. The Graduate Review Committee conducts ongoing reviews of each student’s performance. Unsatisfactory progress may result in a formal warning or probation, which may be lifted upon demonstrated improvement. Continued poor performance may lead to dismissal from the program. Should a student disagree with the decisions of the Director and/or the Graduate Review Committee, he or she may appeal to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
