D. Violations, Fines, and Appeals

  1. Improper expression or display (i.e. abusive language, uncontrolled temper, raised voice, etc.) before, during, or after receiving a citation, an auto-boot, or being towed, or while speaking to a Campus Security guard or a University official about the citation will result in further disciplinary action.
  2. Failure to Comply with a directive from Campus Security or a University official will be referred to the Dean of Students (or designee) and will result in further disciplinary action.
  3. Schedule of Fines:
    • Parking in a fire lane or by a fire hydrant -$50.00
    • All moving violations: i.e. speeding, reckless driving, rapid acceleration, or stop sign violation - $50.00
    • Unauthorized parking in Handicapped Spaces  -$100.00
    • Parked or driving on grass, sidewalks, or other prohibited areas - $50.00
    • Improper parking (double parking, blocking driveways, or other prohibited areas) - $50.00
    • Parking in loading/service vehicle spaces - $50.00
    • Removal or disregard of barricades - $50.00
    • Improper expression or display   (See Section D.1)
    • Parking unregistered vehicle - $50.00
    • Unauthorized use, reproduction, or tampering with permits - $50.00
    • Falsifying request for permit - $50.00
    • Immobilization of vehicle (auto-boot) - $50.00
    • unauthorized removal of auto-boot  $50.00
    • Parking in wrong lot - $50.00
    • Parking permit not properly displayed - $10.00
    • Failing/Refusing to Comply with Lawful Orders of a Campus Security Officer - $50.00
    • Towing (payable directly to the towing agency)
    • Students that have at least three (3) or more violations per semester, may be subject to disciplinary action in the addition to the established fines.
  4. Payment of Fines: Fines are to be paid at the Student Service Counter – Cashier located in Starvaggi Hall. As with all outstanding balances, grades, transcripts, or other academic records (including diploma) will be withheld due to any unpaid account. Excessive violations (three (3) or more per semester) may result in additional sanctions, including, but not limited to, the suspension of campus parking privileges.
  5. Appeals: Parking citations may be appealed by presenting the citation to the Campus Security Office (located in Assisi Heights) with a completed Request for Appeal of Parking Citation Form, within five regular working days of the citation. Due to high volume, verbal appeals or excuses are not accepted. The decision of the director of Security is final.
