Catechetics

This concentration examines the various factors that bear upon the mission of handing on the Faith, including its history, sources, evangelistic context, content, methodology, participants, and its cultural, philosophical, and ideological influences, with particular focus on the patristic era and the 20th Century catechetical renewal, as embodied in the restoration of the catechumenate.  Upon this foundation, this concentration prepares the student for academic research and teaching at the university and seminary levels, and equips the student to undertake advanced catechetical writing and creative analysis for the sake of providing a vigorous and organic exposition of doctrine that fosters conversion to Christ and His Church.
