UNV 115 Franciscan Quest
Franciscan University cultivates a Catholic life of the mind and provides a vision and commitment to rebuild Catholic culture in our “post-Christian,” secular society. Franciscan Quest is designed to help you identify and realize your own unique personal vocation to 1) cultivate the life of your mind and grow holistically now; 2) learn to discern God’s will for the particular Kingdom building work of your post-graduation life. This course is a synergistic liberal arts community which includes classmates, student mentors, section facilitators, and the lecturers themselves. The deeply personalistic setting is designed for inspiring students to: (1) study intensely the wisdom tradition beyond formal schooling, (2) co-create their own chapter in salvation history, (3) grow in virtue and Franciscan values; and (4) a contemplative and active love of God and others for the upbuilding of community, culture and the Church. Lecturers and facilitators explore a wide variety of ideas that motivate and inspire your study of our great Catholic intellectual tradition. The course will be highly interactive and emphasize practical ways for you to navigate college well and flourish in Christ throughout life.
