Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements for the French Major:

FRN 102	Elementary French II	3
FRN 201	Intermediate French I	3
FRN 202	Intermediate French II	3
FRN	24 credits of upper-level French courses	24
FRN 434	Thesis	1
	OR
FRN 435	Coordinating Seminar	1

FRN 434 or FRN 435 and a minimum of 24 credits of upper-level French courses are required. HST 323 or HST 327 may be substituted for one upper-division French course.

All French majors are strongly encouraged to spend at least one semester or summer term of study abroad in a French-speaking nation or territory (typically France or Quebec) at a college or university in which the language of instruction is French. Credits earned during study abroad can be transferred to Franciscan University with departmental approval.
