BIO 142 General Biology I

Investigates the scientific process, to understand cells and cell components, and to recognize the biological molecules supporting all of life.  Examines the biological systems of plants and animals, embryology, ecology, evolution, and behaviors.  The intent of the course is for students to appreciate the unity and diversity of life on earth as well as develop an understanding of the profound impact humans have on life on earth.  This course is primarily for students planning on majoring in biology. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab.
